November's winds may be cold and bitter, but the library is always warm and cozy, and we have an abundance of books to keep you company. If you're seeking some fun and informative activities at the library, be sure to explore the exciting programs we have in store this month.

For our younger readers, we have two Discover sessions this month:

  • Discover: Squishy Circuits for Grades 1-4 - Join us for an artistic and scientific adventure as participants use simple electrical circuits to illuminate playdough sculptures! Date: Saturday, November 4, Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m. Registration is required.
  • Discover: LEGO Challenges for Grades K-6 - Dive into the world of LEGO with green screen pictures, zip line transportation, and more creative challenges! Date: Saturday, November 25, Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m. Registration is required.

For the tech-savvy youth, we have the Youth Tech: Electronics Teardown for Grades 7-10. Get hands-on experience deconstructing electronic and mechanical devices to understand their inner workings. Date:  Thursday, November 9, 4:00-5:30 p.m.  Registration is required.

Seniors Corner presents 'Stories from Drive Happiness' this month. Join us to hear firsthand accounts of how Drive Happiness came into existence, heartwarming stories, assistance provided, and discover volunteer opportunities. Date: Tuesday, November 14, Time: 1:00-2:00 p.m. Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome.

As the November Fall Break approaches, we've planned some awesome STEAM camps for grades K-6! Kids can drop in anytime between 10:15-11:45 a.m. or 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, Wednesday, November 15, and Thursday, November 16. Activities include magnet art, Squishy Circuits, LEGO challenges, and arts and crafts. For more details, visit our website at www.beaumontlibrary.com.

Constable Shyla Delowski of the Beaumont RCMP will be presenting a discussion on domestic violence on Tuesday, November 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is encouraged, and drop-ins are welcome.

Join us for our Explore Series at the Library!

  • Explore: Rubber Duck STEM Challenges for Grades K-6 - Build parachutes, boats, and swings for rubber ducks! Date: Monday, November 20, Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m. Registration is required.
  • Explore: The Three Little Pigs STEM Challenges for Grades K-6 - Test your construction skills and build a house for the Three Little Pigs. Date: Monday, November 27, Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m. Registration is required.

Family Counselling Centres has partnered with the Beaumont Library to present psychoeducational workshops in a group setting. This month, FCC is presenting "Cyber Safety Strategies for Parents and Guardians" on Thursday, November 23, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For additional details and registration, please reach out to FCC at intakes@familycounsellingcentres.com.

We've also received a new shipment of books for our French Fiction Travelling Collection, generously provided by the Grande Prairie Public Library. Come visit us and explore the latest additions to our display featuring new French adult fiction books!
