Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library are a volunteer group of caring individuals that supports the library in raising funds and awareness. Friends provide volunteer assistance to library programs. Friends bring new ideas and new abilities to promote the library to the public. Friends volunteer as much or as little as they are able. Friends help promote literacy in the community.  We meet once a month. If you are interested, please contact the library. New members are always welcome.

These automated messages are sent via phone, email, or text.Second Overdue Notice – Items 3 weeks past due will receive a second overdue notice. These automated messages are sent via phone, email, or text.Billing Notice – Items 30 days past due will be considered lost and automatically billed to your account. These automatic messages are sent via phone, email, or text.Fine Notice – If your account balance is $20.00 or more, you will receive a fine notice and your account will become blocked. These automated messages are sent via mail, email, or text.You may return items during regular business hours in our Book Return slot at the circulation desk. Items may also be returned in the after-hours book drop located by the staff entrance (Northeast side of the library).If an item is damaged while in your care, the fee incurred will depend on the severity of the damage.  If the item is no longer fit for circulation you will be charged the full replacement cost of the item, which you will keep.If an item is lost while in your care, you will be charged the full replacement cost of the item, which you will keep.  Items will be considered lost within 45 days of becoming overdue.  Your account charges will be adjusted upon return of lost items.If your account charges exceed $20.00 your account will be suspended until payment is received.

Beaumont Library provides a tutoring service where we connect honours students to younger students in need of homework help. Once a form is submitted,  students will be matched with tutors as soon as possible, depending on tutor availability.

Curbside Pickup
Place holds on items you would like to borrow at www.beaumontlibrary.com or at www.tracpac.ab.ca.When you receive notification that items are being held, call (780)-929-2665 to make an appointment to pick up your hold.At your designated pick-up time, come to the library and pull up to the curb closest to the building.Call (780)-929-2665 to let staff know you have arrived for your curbside pick-up appointment.Have your ID or library card ready to show staff.A library staff member will bring your items out to your vehicle, check your ID through the window, and deliver your items.Enjoy!How long can I keep my material?Please see our borrowing guidelines for detailed information.How can I return items?You can return material to our outdoor book drop 24 hours a day, or the drop box inside the Library during our regular business hours.

How do I Donate Books to the Library?

Our Library accepts donations of new or gently used materials at our circulation desk during open hours of business throughout the year.Books, new or gently used; fiction or non-fiction, published within the last 15 yearsItems in poor condition (e.g., soiled, moldy or damaged)CDs/Audio CDsDVDs/Blu-RaysTextbooksEncyclopediasMagazinesOutdated Audiovisual materials (e.g., VHS)Periodicals (e.g., journals)Donated items must be packaged; we will accept a maximum of 1 box or bag at one time. If your donation is larger, please contact our Donations Staff.  Once Items are donated, we reserve the right to determine whether the material will be added to our collection, to our on-going book sale, or donated further.
